About This Place

Located in the vibrant heart of Dallas at 6110 Frankford Rd, Whistle Britches is a must-visit destination for fans of Southern-inspired American cuisine, especially those who crave expertly crafted chicken dishes paired with creative brunch favorites. This inviting restaurant blends the rich, comforting flavors of classic Americana with a fresh, modern twist, making it a true standout for brunch, lunch, and dinner enthusiasts alike.

The soul of Whistle Britches lies in its exceptional chicken offerings, beautifully showcased in signature plates like the iconic Chicken N' Waffles—a harmonious dance of crispy, golden fried chicken teamed with warm, fluffy waffles and drizzled with house-made honey butter. The flavors deliver a satisfying contrast of savory, sweet, and buttery richness that lingers delightfully on the palate. Another fan favorite, The Whistle Britches Sandwich, layers tender, crispy chicken with the perfect balance of texture and seasoning, though some guests have noted that the seasoning on the batter leans more subtle, allowing the natural flavor of the chicken to shine.

Beyond chicken, the menu dazzles with creative, comforting sides and starters, such as the velvety Deviled Farm Eggs enhanced with kewpie mayo and Wright's Ham, and the indulgent Three Cheese Mac and Toasted Panko, which offers a creamy, cheesy embrace with a crispy breadcrumb topping. For those who crave a bit of zest, the Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese served with smoked southern pecans and saltines is a delightful balance of smoky, tangy, and nutty flavors.

Whistle Britches also shines during brunch service, featuring crowd-pleasers like the Chicken Benny and the irresistibly fluffy Challah French Toast. The restaurant’s commitment to fresh, quality ingredients is evident in dishes like the White Corn Homestead Mills Grits Roasted Poblano Chile White Cheddar and Cilantro, which offers a creamy, smoky depth perfect for warming you from the inside out. Don't miss the WB Bloody Mary, a robust, flavorful cocktail that pairs beautifully with any brunch selection.

Customers often praise Whistle Britches for its warm and engaging atmosphere. The Dallas location offers a charming patio shaded under mature trees, creating a relaxed space to savor your meal whether you're indulging in weekend brunch or an evening feast. Service has been universally lauded as attentive and friendly—one diner fondly remembered their server Ryan's thoughtful and humorous approach that made their first visit truly memorable.

While some feedback points to the biscuits being a touch firmer and the mashed potatoes a bit on the buttery side without much seasoning, overall, guests agree the food delivers a hearty, satisfying experience. The Buffalo Cauliflower and Mexican Street Corn are particularly popular for their vibrant flavors and great textural contrasts, making them excellent choices for vegetarians or those seeking lighter starters.

For anyone looking for a dynamic dining experience that blends Southern comfort food with innovative culinary twists, Whistle Britches in Dallas is an exceptional choice. Whether indulging in the crispy chicken and pancakes, savoring the crema-rich sides, or unwinding in a lively atmosphere with a refreshing cocktail, you’ll find yourself eager for a return visit. It’s this mix of passionate cooking, genuine hospitality, and a vibe that feels both lively and cozy that sets Whistle Britches apart in Dallas’ bustling food scene.

I am definitely coming back! I appreciated the customer service. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious! And the Mexican street corn The chicken and biscuit was alright. I LOVE fried chicken and to me, the batter wasn’t as flavorful. The biscuit was a bit hard. The mashed potatoes taste like butter (which was not all the way bad but could use seasoning.) Otherwise, it was good nonetheless.

Whistle Britches is awesome! Excellent food, great service and the atmosphere at this Dallas location is incredible! Now, they are known for their chicken dishes - the tacos are simply the best…and so are those chicken and pancakes - but I also tried the smash burger and that was great too! Very good sweet tea and biscuits too.

It's a shame this place seems to be overlooked. The C.F.S. was beautifully seasoned and put together. Make sure you order some extra gravy though. The beans are seasoned with rosemary&thyme. The Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. I can only recommend the Killer Bee. It has a nice strawberry puree flavor and quite a kick. I love sitting on the patio, there's plenty of shade under the scorching sun. The servers are always friendly and helpful. Such a treat to go here!

This is a solid brunch pick, you can’t go wrong with the Chicken N’ Waffles and the Three Cheese Mac. The Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese is pretty good, and the deviled eggs are decent but you could probably do with them. I feel like we all liked the Buffalo cauliflower and corn fritters, but my minds a little fuzzy on those. Overall, a great pick, service has been good at each visit and the foods always hot and fresh.

OMG! I came here for the first for Saturday Brunch . From the time I walked into the door, the service was AWESOME! Our waiter Ryan was AMAZING! He was attentive and funny! Great sense of humor! The food was DELICIOUS! I had the Chicken Tenders with pancakes! I had them dip the tenders in the hot sauce they use and it was AMAZING (thank me later)! Y’all gotta try this place!

We had a wonderful experience at this quaint location! Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent suggestions. He ensured our orders were correct and fulfilled all our requests. The dishes, as shown in the photos, were visually appealing, and the flavors were outstanding. We look forward to returning to this restaurant for lunch again.
